Nursing Homes Should Post Staff Turnover Rates, Watchdog Says

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services should make nursing home staff turnover rates available on its public website for consumers as federal law requires, according to a government watchdog agency.

A report released Thursday by the HHS Office of Inspector General found that the CMS’ Care Compare website, formerly known as Nursing Home Compare, could better serve the public and state inspection agencies if self-reported data on nursing staff and therapist turnover rates were added to the website as required under the Affordable Care Act.
