The Biden administration moved Wednesday to require state nursing home inspectors to incorporate a facility’s self-reported staffing data into their inspections beginning Oct. 24 to help identify possible noncompliance with federal staffing requirements for nurses.
Federal law require nursing homes that participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs to have licensed nurses on-site round the clock and a registered nurse on site for at least eight hours each day.
