Novartis Pharmaceuticals agreed to pay $678m to the U.S. and various states to settle a fraud lawsuit, the U.S. Justice Department said.
- The suit alleged Novartis operated a sham speaker series and provided doctors cash, outings, meals and alcohol to induce them to prescribe Novartis cardiovascular and diabetes drugs reimbursed by federal healthcare programs
