New York Pharmacy Owners Enter Guilty Plea to Money Laundering

Nov. 16, 2022, 6:38 PM

Arkadiy Khaimov and Peter Khaim, owners of New York-area pharmacies, have pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, according to the Department of Justice Wednesday.

The pair allegedly used pharmacies that they owned and controlled to submit fraudulent claims to Medicare by using Covid-19 “emergency override” billing codes for cancer medications, the DOJ said.

Both are scheduled to be sentenced in 2023 and each face a maximum of 20 years in prison, said the agency.
