Certain prescription drugs for Medicare recipients will undergo a new electronic authorization process to comport with a recent law designed to curb opioid use disorder.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Tuesday released a final rule governing the prescription transactions standard for Medicare’s Part D e-prescribing programs.
This new electronic standard will allow doctors and clinicians to see that a drug is subject to prior authorization while they’re writing a prescription.
