New Jersey Compounding Pharmacy Executives Avoid Prison

Two executives of a New Jersey repackaging and compounding pharmacy shut down by the FDA avoided prison terms in sentencing on criminal conspiracy charges involving adulterated and contaminated drugs.

Judge I. Leo Glasser of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York Dec. 19 sentenced defendants Gerald Tighe and Stephen Kalinoski each to six months of home confinement, four years of probation, and 300 hours of community service for their roles in a scheme to lie to health-care providers about quality-control standards at Med Prep Consulting Inc. in Tinton Falls, N.J.
