Nebraska Lab Charges Up to $979 for Covid Test, Premera Says (1)

Premera Blue Cross accused a Nebraska-based Covid-19 testing lab of overbilling insurers by submitting claims for faulty and unnecessary tests and charging insurers much more than it charges patients paying cash, according to a federal complaint filed in Seattle.

GS Labs, which provides Covid testing sites in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, and Washington, “systematically subjects patients to expensive and medically unnecessary testing” in order to bilk money from insurance companies, Premera said in a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
