The National Basketball Association and the Detroit Pistons settled a suit alleging they failed to save the life of Zena “Zeke” Upshaw, a minor league player who collapsed during a game.
The NBA knew sudden cardiac death risks were prevalent among players, Upshaw’s mother alleged in her suit filed in the U.S. District Court for Western District of Michigan.
Settlement terms are confidential, according to a court filing.
