Mississippi’s governor should call legislators into a special session to restore the state’s ballot initiative process that was voided by the state Supreme Court, Republican state leaders said Monday.

When Mississippi’s highest court on Friday struck down a voter-approved medical marijuana initiative, it also suddenly halted efforts to let voters decide whether Mississippi should expand Medicaid eligibility, among other potential ballot questions.
