Medicare to Pay Additional $35 for At-Home Covid Vaccinations

The Biden administration hopes to boost national vaccination rates by hiking Medicare payments by $35 per dose for in-home Covid-19 shots for beneficiaries who have difficulty leaving their residences or who may be otherwise hard to reach.

The move, announced Wednesday by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will increase payments from about $40 to roughly $75 and will target roughly 1.6 million seniors who have trouble leaving their homes. Payments for a two-dose vaccine will jump to roughly $150 from the current rate of about $70, the CMS said.
