Medicare Panel Urges Pay Hikes for Hospitals, Dialysis Centers

A panel that advises Congress on Medicare issues is recommending that lawmakers increase program reimbursement rates for hospitals, long-term care hospitals, and dialysis providers in 2021.

But the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission’s March report to Congress calls for home health agencies and inpatient rehabilitation facilities to receive a pay cut next year. Physicians, nursing homes, hospice providers, and same-day surgery centers would see no payment adjustment under the commission’s proposals.
