LGBTQ Groups Say HHS Unlawfully Gutted Nondiscrimination Policy

Family Equality, True Colors United Inc., and Services & Advocacy for LGBT Elders sued Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M. Azar II, challenging the agency’s decision not to enforce a nondiscrimination policy against groups that receive federal grant money.

HHS announced in November 2019 that it won’t take action against participants in its grant programs for discriminating against people based on their age, disability, sex, race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
