Lawmaker Queries Trump’s HHS on HIV Goal, Conflicting Policy (1)

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone Jr. (D-N.J.) wants specifics from the Trump administration on its recent plan to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030, including how it plans to reconcile seemingly conflicting policies.

The democratic leader sent a letter Feb. 25 asking Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar to provide his committee with a briefing and to respond to questions about how existing Trump administration policies might affect the plan to end HIV/AIDS. Pallone asked that the HHS meet his requests by March 11.
