Latest Medicaid Work Rule Fight Focuses on New Hampshire

New Hampshire shouldn’t be allowed make employment a condition for Medicaid coverage, a new lawsuit against the federal health agencies says.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service’s approval of the state’s work requirement plan doesn’t support the Medicaid program’s objective of ensuring low-income people receive needed medical care they otherwise can’t afford, a complaint filed March 20 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said. CMS is part of the Health and Human Services Department.
