Keep Christian Group Out of Conscience Rule Fight, New York Says

New York is urging a federal court to keep a group representing Christian health-care professionals out of its fight against a new federal religious conscience protection rule.

The Christian Medical and Dental Associations may not enter the case to help the U.S. Health and Human Services Department defend a rule that will allow health-care workers to deny care or information on the basis of their religious beliefs, the state told the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York July 9.
