Judge Grants Injunction in Kansas Lawsuit
Over Title X Funding for Planned Parenthood

ST. LOUIS—A federal judge in Kansas issued a preliminary injunction Aug. 1 preventing the state from cutting off Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri from Title X family planning funding (Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri v. Brownback, D. Kan., 2:11-cv-02357-JTM-DJW, 8/1/11).

The ruling arose in a lawsuit filed by PPKM June 27 over a Kansas bill, HB 2014, that would restrict Title X family planning funds to hospitals and federally qualified health centers that provide comprehensive primary and preventive care in addition to family planning services.
