Insys Settles With States, Creditors to Pay Fraction of Claims

Insys Therapeutics Inc. has amended its bankruptcy plan after settling with states and local governments to pay up to about 8% of their claims stemming from the drug maker’s role in the nationwide opioid crisis.

The Justice Department, which is seeking restitution and asserting other civil and criminal claims against Insys, so far hasn’t agreed to settle, according to the amended plan and disclosures, filed Nov. 29 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
