Insurers Ask Supreme Court to Stop Obamacare ‘Bait and Switch’

The federal government shouldn’t be allowed to get away with a “bait-and-switch” that cost health insurers about $12 billion, insurers recently told the U.S. Supreme Court.

The government’s refusal to make good on promises to help insurers recover from early Obamacare losses “undermines political accountability by allowing the government to promise boldly and renege obscurely,” Moda Health Plan Inc. and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina said in their final brief filed to the high court May 28.
