Idaho Supreme Court Upholds Medicaid Expansion

The Idaho Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of expanding Medicaid coverage in the state on Feb. 5, and called the challenge from a politically right-wing advocacy group “without merit.”

Sixty-one percent of voters gave a thumbs up to Proposition Two—expanding the low-income health program—last November, despite years of refusal to do so by the state’s overwhelmingly Republican Legislature. Idaho Freedom Foundation had challenged expansion, which was approved in a ballot initiative.
