Idaho Lawmakers Fund Expanded Medicaid, Ending Impasse

A long-delayed measure to fund the expansion of Medicaid coverage in Idaho passed the House late April 9 after lawmakers got word the governor signed into law another bill imposing work requirements on program recipients.

The $2.8 billion funding measure, SB 1171, had already passed the Senate March 11, but had languished in the House. The House declined to pass it until their Senate colleagues agreed to impose mandatory work requirements on Medicaid recipients. Gov. Brad Little (R) signed those requirements into law April 9.
