Hospitals Wary of Lawsuits as Workers Voice Concerns About Virus

Hospitals are starting to face lawsuits for allegedly penalizing workers who speak their minds about the Covid-19 response.

Means of Recourse: The height of the pandemic saw hospitals terminate employees for raising concerns about workplace protections and compliance with government standards—either in-house, on social media, or to the press. Workers who have lost their jobs could file claims under federal labor law, worker health and safety whistleblower protection laws, and state common law, a partner at Arent Fox says.
