Hospice Services Fraud Suit Correctly Reopened, SCOTUS Told

False Claims Act whistleblowers urged the U.S. Supreme Court to reject Care Alternatives’ petition challenging an appeals court ruling that revived a suit claiming the company provided hospice care to patients who lacked Medicare eligibility.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit properly ruled that Care Alternatives may have presented false claims for reimbursement in 2006 and 2007, according to the whistleblowers’ opposition to the petition docketed Jan. 8.
