HHS Told to Revisit Formula for Obamacare Insurer Payments

A New Mexico nonprofit health insurer appears to have become the first to successfully challenge part of an Obamacare program designed to level the health insurance playing field.

The U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico Feb. 28 ordered the Health and Human Services Department to rework part of its methodology for determining payments due from profitable health plans under the Affordable Care Act’s risk adjustment program.
