HHS Abortion ‘Gag’ Rule Enforcement Still Blocked in Maryland

Maryland family planning service providers who receive federal money can’t be required to comply with a new rule limiting what they can tell their clients about abortion for now, the Fourth Circuit said.

A federal district court order blocking the Health and Human Services Department from taking action on the rule in the state will stay in force while an appeal is pending before the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the appeals court said March 27.
