Health Insurers May Ask Supreme Court for Obamacare Money

A pair of health insurers may now seek U.S. Supreme Court review of their suit seeking $12 million in funds under the Affordable Care Act.

A mandate issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Nov. 13 clears Moda Health Plan Inc. and Land of Lincoln Mutual Health Insurance Co. to ask the high court to review their claims.

The mandate is the final, formal step ending the case in the appeals court. The Federal Circuit in June said the insurers aren’t entitled to money they say they are owed under the ACA’s risk corridors program.
