Georgia Questions Providers’ Standing in Abortion Law Fight

Abortion providers don’t have authority to sue Georgia over a law that bans abortions after about six weeks gestation, state authorities told a federal court in Georgia.

The decision to have an abortion belongs to a woman, not an abortion provider, Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and others said in a brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on Thursday.
