Few GOP Lawmakers Join In as Democrats Rip Trump Obamacare Move

House Republican leadership largely fended off a move by Democrats to turn the party against President Donald Trump and his recent health-care moves.

Only eight Republicans voted with nearly all Democrats April 3 on a resolution (H. Res. 271) condemning the Trump administration’s recent decision to ask a federal court to overturn Obamacare. The measure passed on a 240-186 vote. The move was largely symbolic and an attempt to put Republicans on the record about Trump’s move against the health-care law.
