Fertility Fraud Suit Ends With $2.2 Million Judgment for Mother

A Vermont doctor who used his own sperm to impregnate a patient during an artificial insemination procedure in the late 1970s has been ordered to pay her $2.2 million.

Cheryl Rousseau agreed to the judgment after the trial judge reduced her original $5.25 million jury award in what’s believed to be the first “fertility fraud” suit to go to trial.
