Expenses Slashed for Chronic Illness Patients in High-Cost Plans

Patients with chronic conditions in certain high-cost health plans will face fewer out-of-pocket expenses for services related to their illness under a new Trump administration policy.

The Treasury Department July 17 issued a notice that would categorize services for certain chronic conditions as preventative care in high-deductible health plans. Classifying the services as preventative care would result in smaller or no deductibles for patients.
