Legislation that would put back restrictions on the sale of health plans that don’t meet Obamacare requirements advanced to its final stage before a full House vote.
By a party line vote of 26-19, the House Education and Labor Committee April 9 followed the House Energy and Commerce Committee in approving a bill (H.R. 1010) that would overturn the 2018 Trump rule promoting the sale of non-Obamacare health plans. Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott (D-Va.) said the bill would protect patients from higher health-care costs and result in better care.
