Companies Seek Same Deal on Any Drug Prices Medicare Negotiates

Employers want to benefit from lower drug prices if Medicare begins to negotiate with drug manufacturers, an employer group said Tuesday.

“If there are going to be negotiations between the federal government and the drug companies, it is critical that employers be able to pay the same prices,” James Gelfand, senior vice president of health policy for the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC), said in a press call. ERIC represents large employers that provide employee benefits.
