Claims of Bogus Biopsies, Treatments Lead to $18M Settlement

A Florida dermatologist agreed to pay $18 million to settle allegations he billed Medicare for unnecessary biopsies and radiation treatments, the Justice Department announced Feb. 7 (United States ex rel. Schiff v. Marder, S.D. Fla., No. 1:13-cv-24503, settlement 2/6/17).
