California Revives Medicaid Proposal for Undocumented Seniors

California would allow undocumented people over age 60 to sign up for the state’s Medicaid system starting next year under a proposal unveiled Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Newsom’s revised 2021–2022 budget proposal provides for a record $196.8 billion in general funding starting July 1, buttressed by a $75.7 billion operating surplus and $27 billion in federal recovery funds.
