California Hospitals Must Test Patients, Staff for Covid-19

All California acute-care hospitals immediately must begin testing patients for Covid-19, and starting Dec. 14 conduct weekly testing of health-care workers, under new state orders that are the strongest in the nation for testing employees.

The California Department of Public Health in a Nov. 25 letter to all facilities said hospital workers in areas with elevated cases of disease transmission from exposure in the community are at higher risk, particularly when the hospital is experiencing a surge of Covid-19 cases.
