California Covid Nursing Home Death Cases Return to State Court

Eight consolidated cases seeking damages for the Covid-19 related deaths and injuries of residents at nursing homes operated by Silverado Senior Living Inc. in the Los Angeles area are heading back to state court.

The Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act doesn’t preempt the state-law claims originally filed in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County, Judge John A. Kronstadt of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.
