Buffer Zone Around Rochester, N.Y., Abortion Clinic Enforced

Pro-life protesters at a Rochester, N.Y., abortion clinic were bound by a 2000 court order that established a 15-foot buffer zone around the facility because they acted in concert with people and organizations named in the order, a federal court in New York said.

Injunctions can’t “lawfully enjoin the world at large,” but they do automatically prohibit people who aren’t named in an injunction from acting “‘in active concert or participation’ with an enjoined party,” the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York said Jan. 24.
