Brain Test Company to Settle Kickback Claims for $13.5 Million

A Texas medical testing company and its management company will pay $15.3 million to resolve allegations related to a kickback scheme that resulted in false claims to Medicare and Medicaid, the Justice Department said.

Alliance Family of Companies LLC, a national electroencephalography (EEG) testing company, will pay $13.5 million over allegations it paid kickbacks to referring physicians, and submitted claims for work not performed or for which a lower level of reimbursement was justified, the DOJ said in a July 21 statement.
