Biden HHS Quadruples Obamacare Sign-Up Helpers to 1,500

The Biden administration is quadrupling the number of Obamacare “navigators” who help connect the uninsured with marketplace coverage to 1,500, the Health and Human Services Department announced Friday.

Sixty organizations will receive $80 million to help train and certify navigators for the 2022 health insurance plan year—the largest increase in funding for this program.

Democrats and Republicans have disagreed over how effective navigators are at getting uninsured people enrolled in health plans, and the Trump administration slashed funding to the program based on that.
