Biden Health Policy Adviser Pick Gets Nod from Senate Committee

The Senate Finance Committee voted 14-12 Thursday to advance President Joe Biden’s nomination of Rebecca Haffajee to a top advisory role for navigating federal health policy.

Haffajee’s nomination to be the Health and Human Services Department’s assistant secretary for planning and evaluation (ASPE) will now go the full Senate for a vote. A public health researcher and attorney, Haffajee is currently ASPE’s principal deputy assistant secretary.
