Benchmark Obamacare Premiums to Drop 4% in 2020 With More Plans

Average premiums for the benchmark Obamacare plans that decide subsidy amounts will drop 4% next year, the Department of Health and Human Services reported Oct. 22.

That will make 2020 the second straight year that Affordable Care Act premiums have dropped after they rose sharply in earlier years. In addition, the HHS said 20 more health insurers are joining the federal health insurance exchange, bringing the total to 175 insurers compared with 132 in 2018.
