Arthur J. Gallagher to Face Suit on Breach Affecting 3 Million

Insurance brokers Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Gallagher Basset Services must face a proposed class action arising from a 2020 ransomware attack and data breach that allegedly exposed the personal information and protected health information of three million people, a federal court ruled.

John Parsons, Adrian Villalobos and 14 other named plaintiffs claimed that the breach exposed names, social security numbers, usernames and passwords, financial and credit card information, medical records and biometric information. The brokers also waited nine months to inform affected consumers, they said.
