A group of leading LGBT and HIV/AIDS advocacy organizations sent a letter to Facebook Dec. 9 asking it to remove advertisements that could be read to state that an HIV prevention drug has harmful side effects.
Serious side effects haven’t been observed in people using the drug, and it reduces the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99% when taken consistently, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention said.
