Abortion Providers, Georgia Seek Pretrial Win on Six-Week Ban

A national women’s organization, abortion providers, and Georgia are urging a federal court in the state to put an early end to a case challenging its ban on abortions after six weeks.

The six-week ban, known as House Bill 481, is unconstitutional because it prohibits abortion at a stage when a fetus wouldn’t be viable, SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, Feminist Women’s Health Center, Planned Parenthood Southeast Inc., and other providers told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia Thursday.
