Abortion Provider Urges SCOTUS to Stand By Privilege Decision (1)

A Fifth Circuit decision upholding Louisiana’s requirement that doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at local hospitals directly conflicts with U.S. Supreme Court precedent and should be reversed, a provider told the high court.

June Medical Services LLC, one of only three abortion providers in Louisiana, filed its opening brief on appeal to the Supreme Court Nov. 25. The state’s opposing brief is due Dec. 26. Oral argument has been scheduled for March 4.
