$5M Fraud, Sex Trafficking Get Treatment Center Owner 27 Years

The owner of Florida sober homes and addiction treatment centers was sentenced May 17 to 27 years in prison for orchestrating a $5 million scam in which he defrauded insurance companies and coerced drug addicts into prostitution (United States v. Chatman, S.D. Fla., No. 9:17-cr-80013, sentencing 5/17/17).

Kenneth Chatman had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges for health-care fraud, money laundering and sex trafficking in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
