U.S. Audit Regulator Disputes Ex-Staffer’s Discrimination Claims

The U.S. audit regulator countersued a former senior staffer who claims she was wrongfully terminated as a result of her Chinese heritage, arguing that she was actually fired for excessive travel and poor management skills.

In a response filed late Friday, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board said that it fired Sue Lee, its former chief administrative officer, for cause after an internal investigation and not due to her nationality or political affiliation. The board denied any allegations of harassment or discrimination.
