Deloitte Africa’s new boss has appointed the unit’s first chief sustainability officer as she seeks to position the audit firm as a leader in environmental, social and governance issues in the region.
Ruwayda Redfearn, 47, who took the helm at Deloitte Africa on June 1, said the company would support clients as they redefine their strategies beyond seeking profit. She replaced Lwazi Bam, who led the audit firm through a series of accounting scandals during his 9-year tenure.
