Vasso Godiali was sentenced to 80 months in prison for allegedly submitting false claims for the placement of vascular stents and for thrombectomies that he didn’t perform, according to the Justice Department Wednesday.
Godiali admitted to billing for services he didn’t render and preparing false medical records to justify the billings, the department said. He was accused of billing for the placement of multiple vascular stents in the same blood vessel that he didn’t perform and falsifying reports of medical necessity.
