Contract spending obligations in fiscal 2020 are expected to range from $583 billion to $630 billion, according to an estimate based on data from Bloomberg Government’s Market Forecast Dashboard. That’s a significant increase from the $560 billion that was reported in fiscal 2018.
The forecast range represents spending growth of 4 to 12 percent through September 2020. Growth through the end of fiscal 2019, ending in about six months on Sept. 30, is currently estimated to increase by 1 to 6 percent from 2018 levels.
