Boeing Appeals Dismissal of Contract Accounting Suit Against US

Boeing Co. is appealing the Court of Federal Claims’ dismissal of its government contract cost-accounting lawsuit that challenged a $1 million claim by the federal government.

Boeing filed Sept. 30 its notice of appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

The defense contractor sued in December 2017 asserting that it shouldn’t have to pay $1 million stemming from the company’s accounting practice changes under a $66 million Navy contract to provide military aircraft and related services. The company argued the changes resulted in $1.5 million in savings for the government.
